Hey Folks,
A few months ago, I wrote about a lane change I was trying to make in the writing game. As you can probably tell from my last few posts, things are finally headed in the direction I’ve wanted them to go. This week alone has been the most successful week that I’ve had as a writer and social media personality. Not because of how many views, likes, or retweets my content got, but because of the acknowledgement and appreciation I received. It’s been awesome.
If you follow me on Twitter, you see that I’m doing the same thing there that I’m doing here. I’m making people laugh, sharing motivational content, reflecting on my life to create relatable reads, and trying to get folks to think about how they’re approaching the day to day.
People appreciate it and it feels good. Positivity is infectious, so it’s a germ I don’t mind incubating and spreading. You won’t see me walking or tweeting with a SARS mask on.
Moving forward, I’m gonna work on keeping this site true to what I say in the sidebar. I want TRSJ to be a source of motivation, inspiration, introspection, and improvement.
Don’t worry. I’ll still be myself. You’ve seen more of me in the last few posts than you’ve seen in the last couple years. It took a while, but I’ve finally figured out how I can make the most impact and create the change in people’s lives that I’ve been dreaming about for years now.
In terms of Eff Em Friday, I’m gonna put it on hold. I know there are a few people out there that will try to stab me in my espophagus and toss me in a sarcophagus for this. I understand. I truly do. But I need to figure out how I can make Eff Em Friday a more consistent platform where people share positive tidbits and end their week on a high note. As light-hearted as Eff Em Friday may be, it sorta goes against what I’m trying to do. So let me work on this and I’ll get back to you with something you’ll like, or maybe even love. And if you hate it…
Just don’t tell me you do or I reserve the right to your first, second, or third born depending where you are in life.
Last thing. I mentioned that I’ve received a lot of positive feedback. If you’re one of the people that’s reached out to me or you read daily and think I’m contributing something to your day, please share my content with others. As a writer, that’s the best form of encouragement you can provide me. I’m not writing for clicks here, but don’t let my message go unheard if you found it worthwhile. Take a second and share it on FB, Twitter, or via one of the many list serves that keep you from getting work done during the day. Much appreciated in advance.
Other than that, have a great weekend. Things are on the up and up. I’ll see you on Tuesday!
P.S. Eff how cold it suddenly got when December 1st arrived. It’s body oil, shea butter, and intensive-care lotion season round hurr!
Funny how I read this after I wrote the email I did (you’ll see in second). *salutes* Good for you man.
Keep it up homie. The direction you going will make a difference and open up other doors for you.
\o/
What an awesome, positive post to end the week on. I enjoy your content and I’m glad that you’ve hit a nice hot streak.
Thanks man. It’s great timing. 2012 will be the year.
I won’t lie. I loved the eff em fridays but I pretty much figured this was coming. If I can suggest something though. Maybe we can turn fridays into grateful fridays or something of that nature.
I’m grateful for Slim’s uplifting content lately. It’s refreshing and very much needed since so many people focus on the negative parts of life.
As always, I’m grateful for my hubs and kids and house.
But for this week, I’m grateful for getting a manicure. I hadn’t had one in at least six-seven years and I’ve got to say my hands looks nice, real nice. While I was there somebody told me I look 18-19. Heeeeey! That’s a bonus and I’m grateful for that.
I’m grateful that my hubs likes his Christmas gift so much. Feels like I did a good job!
You have the right ideal with grateful Friday.I’m gonna try to find some alliteration effect for it. Glad to see you took initiative on dropping the positive note.
I love the progression.
I’m looking forward to the change. A lil change never hurt anyone…has it? lol
I’ve enjoyed your posts in the pasts and I’m sure I’ll continue to enjoy your continued progression. I will miss the laughs I got from Eff Em Fridays, but I’m sure you’ll get us laughing and uplifted with the new addition.
Indeed sir. It shall remain funny. Already have an idea I’m gonna try out this week. We’ll see how it goes!
love it.
look forward to following the progress.
